Dear member of the Professional Network Group - Consultancy Thank you to those of you who showed interest in this week's meeting of the Professional network Group for Consultancy on Thursday 2 July.
Unfortunately some of you have also indicated to us that they will not be able to attend because of vacation or work commitments.
On this basis, we have decided to hold the next regular meeting for the PNG Consultancy in August, when everyone is back from vacation. You will receive an email closer to the date inviting to the meeting.
Nevertheless we would make it possible to 'meet up' and suggest to come together and follow up some of the discussions held at the last meeting, and catch up with some people in a more informal meeting of the PNG. 'Results and conclusions' will be treated as suggestions and input to the next regular meeting in august. Therefore, the group administrator, Constanze Goedeckemeyer, will host the next meeting as an informal meeting of the group as planned on Thursday 2 July. We have changed the time of the meeting to 1730 and the location to Custom House, Havnegade 44, 1058 KBH K.
We hope that some of you show up for a relaxed cup of coffee...or a cold drink. Please indicate your attendance at this meeting by emailing the group administrator. If there are any suggestions to the next full meeting of the PNG Consultancy, they will be presented at the group by the group administrator.

The exhibition is created by a number of outstanding Danish artists who all have a relation to ARoS, in that they have previously exhibited at the museum and, in addition, are represented by works in the ARoS collection. It revolves around the artists Ingvar Cronhammar, Olafur Eliasson, Erik A. Frandsen, Julie Nord, Per Kirkeby, Michael Kvium, John Kørner, Bjørn Nørgaard, and the artist duo Hanne Nielsen/Birgit Johnsen.
Over the course of spring, the artists have been let loose in the museum's storage spaces, amongst the many paintings, sculptures, installations, videos, photos and drawings, which in the majority of cases are seldom exhibited. Each artist has been subsequently allotted a cube measuring 6x6x6 metres, in which they each stage the selected works - with a strong personal touch from each individual artist, naturally. The outcome of this is nine spectacular art-cubes.

| | | Expat Thursday 22/10: The Danes (are weird...) | 10/22/2009 5:30 PM | 10/22/2009 7:00 PM |
Looking from a sociological perspective, Danes, and other Scandinavians, are the odd ones out. That probably corresponds very well with many expats' experiences. But why is that and how do you deal with the strangeness of the Danish tribe?
At our Expat Thursday gathering, you will have a chance to dig deeper into the sociological peculiarities of the homo sapien culture of The Dane, Danish culture, and not least the Danish language. Our speaker for this event is Dennis Nørmark, MSc. Anthropology and Senior Consultant with Living Institute. Dennis is a part time lecturer at Department of Anthropology at Aarhus University, a writer, an actor, and a commentator for the newspaper Jyllands Posten. Following the presentation and Q&A session, we encourage you to visit the Custom House bar for networking and drinks. All Expat in Denmark members are welcome - registration is not required.
If you wish to make a dinner reservation, please contact Event & Key Account Manager, Steffen Dalby, at steffend@customhouse.dk or tel.: +45 33310130.

There is also the possibilty of a late night venue being booked to cater for the more nocturnal in the flock.
Book and pay before 23 October Sales will be on a first booked, first paid and first served basis. Watch this space. As usual there will be a few surprises during the night but the overall evening will be very much laissez faire. Dress is smart causal and up. Governments gather in Denmark in December 2009 for the COP15 Conference on Climate Change where hopes are high that a new global deal can be struck. But what are the issues on the table? How will they play out during the course of the conference? And what are the possible outcomes?

Key speaker Carlos Busquets, COP15 representative and Policy Manager at the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) will present and discuss:

Embedded Systems Design
Embedded systems are now everywhere: From medical devices to vehicles, from mobile phones to factory systems, almost all the devices we use today are controlled by embedded computers.
Over 90% of microprocessors are used in embedded systems, the number of embedded systems in use has become larger than the number of humans on the planet, and is projected to increase to 40 billion worldwide by 2020.
Embedded systems are the key to the competitiveness and innovation in many major European industries, including Danish industries.
The complexity of embedded systems is growing at a very high pace and the constraints in terms of functionality, performance, low energy consumption, reliability, cost and time-to-market are getting tighter.
Therefore, the task of designing such systems is becoming increasingly important and difficult at the same time.
The talk will present the state-of-the art design techni-ques for embedded systems, which are able to successfully manage the complexity, meet the constraints imposed by the application domain, shorten the time-to-market, and reduce development and manufacturing costs.

About the film
In the early 1960's, sixteen year old Jenny Mellor lives with her parents in the London suburb of Twickenham. On her father's wishes, everything she does is in the sole pursuit of being accepted into Oxford, as he wants her to have a better life than he.
Jenny is bright, pretty, hard working but also naturally gifted. Jenny's life changes after she meets David Goldman, a man over twice her age. David goes out of his way to show Jenny and her family that his interest in her is not improper and that he wants solely to expose her to cultural activities which she enjoys.
Jenny quickly gets accustomed to the life to which David and his constant companions, Danny and Helen, have shown her, and Jenny and David's relationship does move into becoming a romantic one.
However, Jenny slowly learns more about David, and by association Danny and Helen, and specifically how they make their money. Jenny has to decide if what she learns about them and leading such a life is worth foregoing her plans of higher education at Oxford.

MIND YOUR BEHAVIOUR
How Architecture Shapes Behaviour 3XNs philosophy that architecture can shape behaviour is the central theme of MIND YOUR BEHAVIOUR, the studio’s largest and most ambitious exhibit to date.
The exhibit is build on seven ‘Behaviours’, creating a framework around 28 exhibited projects and at the same time inviting for reflection.
The venue is dominated by five ‘architectones’, breaking down the traditional linear way of organizing an exhibit.
The title MIND YOUR BEHAVIOUR is not meant to be a finger-wagging but rather as an invitation to become more aware of our behaviour on different levels.
For further information please visit the exhibit website here: http://www.dac.dk/myb/mybweb.html or 3XNs website at www.3xn.dk.
