With summer fast approaching, lots of us are thinking about getting back in shape after a long, dark winter.
But when I ask my colleagues what they’re actually doing about it, the answer is usually “Not enough!”. And the reasons? “Not enough time”, “Not enough motivation”, or “The gym’s boring”(!). Considering that joining a sport in Denmark often involves training (up to two nights a week) and games (sometimes on weekends), lack of time really can be an issue.
But what if there was a fun sport that only required a few hours once a week, and still provided fitness and social benefits? And what if you could even get your partner involved too?
Well there is such a sport. It’s called netball. And while it’s not a game everyone’s necessarily grown up playing, it’s really easy to learn, gives you a good workout and – unlike basketball, handball or football – is not a contact sport.
